...missing you, dear blog...

thought i'd be all over this blog like crazy the past few weeks... guess i've been processing a lot since SPARK. (that awesome video is from the first year... new video coming!)

it was quite baffling. in so many ways. in a lot of good ways; and even in a few not so good ways. there are gobs of photos waiting to be posted. don't have them with me- but soon.

before going to Spark... i had just completely emptied out my, ummm, studio... why am i so afraid to call it a studio? it is a studio.  it needed sorted out, dusted, rearranged. i carried everything out of it and stacked a trail through the house. i had thought i would be paring down, getting rid of a lot of it. instead, i was inspired all over again to try and create from it. something, somehow, someday.

that process took about 3 days. it was like a happy treasure hunt...

all of that yummy vintage ephemera, the collected 'best of' scrapping paper and embellishments, found objects, etc... stacks of fabric, piles of fat quarters, lace, trims, ribbons, rubber stamps, inks..

then we went to Spark. it was all about nourishing our creativity. vintage, shabby, glittery, joyful, quirky...

and it all made me so anxious to get back home to my -studio! my dear things...

she who camps...

...'campering' four nights over the Fourth of July weekend. i say campering because we were not tent camping. and i don't like 'rv-ing'...

...tried to like it. i really did. it was just one of those things that didn't go according to plan... aka: life.

it was basically dessert, dry, hot, long, at least a million mosquitos, claustrophobic {me}, eating too much, drinking too much... etc. but we all lived to tell about it -and learned a few things.

on the flip side, there was an amazing artesian swimming pool and therapy pool at the campground. the first morning we all got enough heat {think HOT springs in the sun) ...and sunburn {in spite of sunscreen} for the whole weekend... so the pool was pretty much 'out' for the rest of the time. now what? ...

hello.

there were photo ops... here are many, all wrapped up together- again, keeping up with my photo a day non-committal commitment...

... i feel like such an ingrate. i really did try. as time and a half passed by... i thought about home and what i could be doing... like finishing these:

are just begun. they're 24x24 or 24x36 artist canvas-es. they're a blast, especially as a way to use up some very fun scrap papers {mostly do digi now...} embelishments and ephemera... losts of glue, stamps... just good ol' fun. and so they await... and i'm home today! yippeee!

i was also thinking of all the gardening and seedlings that needed attention...  and- just plain enjoying being home... and so, there is today!

grrr. i feel terrible that i didn't enjoy it. i will learn to like it. i will try to have a voice in choosing the place...etc. am i terrible? {sad face...}

i will, i will learn to like it.

it was good to get away. think about different things. be refreshed by the vastness and majesty.

we must have seen 100 waterfalls. coming from the Source. thought a lot about the whole cycle of water, yearly.

camping!

we're camping. i'm in a coffee shop 'cause i had to conduct a little business via wi-fi. awaiting reply... so thought i might as well blog...

i haven't camped for at least 26 and 1/2 years.

  
hee-heee! so dh got this incredible deal on a camper... this morning was our first morning to wake up in our little home on wheels.  i'm reminded of snails who take their homes wherever they go. it IS like a little home. everything AND the kitchen sink. and i'm also reminded of covered wagons... the original camper? 

we sat having our yummy camper style coffee, listening to classical breakfast music... thinking about how we could get really used to this. it's quite comfy! and boy, did dh need to get away. he had a week from hell... sort of. yes.

so, we're camping in this historic mountain town, right beside a roaring, raging river -and surrounded by the most majestic cliffs... it's incredible.

we're officially 'campers' ... or RV-ers to some. whatever. we're away on holiday. that's what matters.  oh, and we get to stay reasonably clean!  hot springs, vapor caves...

not so bad!
